Who can apply for the Family Fund? Anyone who’s 18 years or older! You can apply for yourself to receive funding, or you can apply on behalf of another person. If you nominate someone else to receive funding, they must be aware that you’ve applied for them and you both must know each other personally (you can’t apply on behalf of a stranger).
What age do you need to be in order to apply or receive money? The applicant and the person receiving the money must both be 18 years or older.
When do applications open? Our first round of applications will open on August 1, 2021.
Are there multiple applications I need to fill out? What are the applications like? There’s just one application through Google Forms. The application includes prompts that will require you to explain your situation, provide proof of your situation, provide us with a specific amount of money that you need, and let us know how you would like to be paid.
How frequently does the Family Fund distribute money? We distribute funds on a monthly basis to different people. At the beginning of every month, applications will open up for people to receive money during the middle of the month.
What kind of proof do I need to show? You can show pictures, videos, government documents, bills, bank statements, or really anything else. Please redact all extremely personal information that you don’t want us to see (like addresses, social security numbers, etc).
How do you decide who gets funding and who doesn’t? There are many factors we take into consideration, including the severity of your situation, how much funding you need, and how much funding we have available to distribute. There are many applicants who need various amounts of money, so we might not be able to give everyone as much money as they need, but we will try our best to provide what we can.
If I were selected to receive money from the Family Fund, how would I get paid? You can choose for the money to be donated to a GoFundMe campaign (if you have one) or you can be directly paid through Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal.
What if you don’t select me to recieve funding? If we are not able to provide any funding, it does not mean that we don’t believe you or that we don’t think you deserve funding. We suggest that you apply again for the next month’s funds — we might be able to give you funding at that time.
Do I need to pay back the money I received from the Family Fund? No, you don’t need to pay anything back.

Can you provide a timeline of the whole process?
Sunday, August 1st: applications for Family Fund open.
Saturday, August 6th: applications close
Sunday, August 15th: email to chosen recipients sent out
Tuesday, August 17th: Deadline for recipients to reply to email and confirm their acceptance of the money
After confirmation from recipient is received: Funding distributed to recipients via GoFundMe, Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal
